Delaney is a senior and this is her first year on the CATalyst staff, but third year with journalism. In Yearbook, she has had a past role of Copy-Editor. Outside of journalism, Delaney enjoys taking pictures, spending time with friends, traveling, being with family, and being a part of the track team.

Pointing up to a sign, senior Hudson Addams shows how high in elevation he is. Addams and a few family members traveled to Asia for two weeks to climb to Mount Everest's first base camp. "The best part was being able to look back and see how far we came," Addams said. "Making the climb was honestly the best two weeks of my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Scouting out in the parking lot, senior Nate Buroker prepares to eliminate his target in a sneaky manner. Buroker found out when his target had class which made it a perfect time to make his move. ''One of my teachers were able to give me the schedule of my target which helped me know when they would arrive and leave,'' Buroker said. ''The parking lot is an easy way to ruin somebodies day.''

Cheering with excitement, senior Elaine Amenta leads the dance team outside after completing their Game Day routine for the first time at Nationals. For the first time ever in Millard West history, the dance team competed in the Game Day division and brought home a white jacket. "Our Game Day routine looked completely different than when we first learned, because we incorporated more signs and moves since then," Amenta said. "Before Nationals, the routine placed pretty well at local competitions but we were definitely not expecting a white jacket."

Smiling with excitement, senior Haili Foster celebrates with her teammates after winning their second first place trophy at Nationals. Foster has been on MWVC for four years now and this will be the first time in history that they will be leaving with not only one but two white jackets. ”This truly was a dream come true,“ Foster said. “All season long we have been working day in and day out for this moment. Hearing our name called out for first place in Game Day and Tumbling was such an exciting and joy-filled moment.”

Inbounding the ball, senior Taylor Hansen looks for a teammate to pass to. On Feb. 2, #1 Millard West took on the #2 team Millard North. "We knew it was going to be a fun game with it being a Millard rivalry as well as it being LadyCat night and there were a lot of people to cheer us on," Hansen said. "It made for such a fun atmosphere and we really thrived off the energy throughout the game."

Placing out all of the finished cookies, senior Sydney Prasch organizes all of the decorated gingerbread cookies. Prasch and her extended family got together to bake 2,000 plus cookies to give out to friends and food drives. "The cookies are all made from my aunt's homemade recipes and they are the best things I've ever tasted," Prasch said. "I've been helping since I was three and it is my favorite holiday tradition."

Hitting the ball over the net, senior Kaelin Pribyl tries to avoid the block from Bell West. In the District Championship, the Wildcats lost to the T-Birds 3-1. "Our strengths throughout the game were staying in system with out passing, which keeps all hitters available as an option, and staying disciplined with our blocking against their biggest hitter," Pribyl said. "We knew they were a great team but we didn't let that stop us from playing to win, rather than playing to not lose."

"I had to apply to be considered for the position," Lech said. "I was the only girl chosen to represent Nebraska and the other two were brothers from Lincoln; Alex and Aiden Ourada."

"Their program really stood out to me because the coaches and players invited me in and welcomed me like I was a part of their family."

Senior lineman Logan Johnson in a three point stance during the first game of the year against Millard West’s biggest rivals down the street, Millard South. In his final first game of high school football, Millard West lost against Millard South with a result of 28-27. “I wanted to strengthen my knee as much as I could,” Johnson said. “I wanted to come back as a better player than before, and focus on making what used to be my weakness my strength. I think the surgery made me closer to the game and love it a lot more.

Bartholomew commonly uses the courts to practice at his dad's gym Lifestyle in Valley. "My friends and I come out to the gym often to play basketball," Bartholomew said. "It's hard to find a time when we are all free but when we can make it happen, we have a lot of fun."

Watching the stands fill up for Volleyball Day, senior Kaelin Pribyl stopped to snap a pic before the stadium got too busy. On Aug. 30, Nebraska beat the world record with an attendance of 92,003 people. "These types of moments help bring more attention to women's sports, which allows them to receive the respect they deserved a long time ago," Pribyl said. "The video tributes were what I enjoyed most about the game because they were videos of players talking about what this opportunity means for them personally and how it impacts sports all together."

With 7 seconds left in the fourth quarter, there was a field goal to be kicked, which occurred successfully, making the score 19-16. “I was super happy after our win against Omaha North,” Wyatt Goodlett said. “I worked really hard that game and felt proud of myself, especially since I played with a hurt shoulder.”

In the midst of shirt toss, senior Aedan Romero takes flight to launch a t-shirt into the crowd.  The crazies were the stars of the show during our Fall pep-rally, leading and getting the school ready for the Battle of Q-Street which took place just hours later. ''Honestly, I was a little nervous to see how everyone would react to this years crazies, but as we took the stage, everyone was super excited and it ended up being a lot of fun,'' Romero said. ''My one goal was to prep everybody for the game, and just simply get the energy going from the start.''
