Mohammad is a sophomore at Millard West and this his first year on the CATalyst staff. He is taking Advanced Journalism and Broadcast Journalism this year. During the summer, he went to Pakistan to see his family. He enjoys listening to music and playing sports. His favorite sports are basketball, football and track. His favorite music artists are Tupac, Kanye West, Travis Scott and Metro Booming. His favorite song is “Right My Wrongs” by Bryson Tiller.

Guard Norah Gessert going for the steal against the Bellevue West Thunderbirds. Gessert intercepted the pass from number eight. Millard West was up 38-23. She would then go for a fastbreak ending in a layup to put the Wildcats up 40-23. “They contribute in a lot of ways,” Kruger said. “One way they contribute is the obvious on the court production that you see, in points, rebounds, block shots and steals. They have had a big step up from last year.”

This was Heithier’s second drink of the day since it was closer to the end of the day. “Energy drinks taste good and it helps me survive throughout the school day,” Heithier said. “They give me way more energy to a point where sometimes its too much but theyre not my favorite and coffee is healthier to drink.”

Scott posing in front of the many colleges she had visited. Scott wanted to pick the right college for her. She had many factors that she kept in mind. She eventually decided to go to Umass Amherst, UVA, or Penn State. “ I looked at colleges with the intent to discover if I liked them and was able to narrow down my list,” Scott said. “I like a school with a sensical set-up, my major, a dance program, on the east coast, not too cold, and really when I visit I just kind of found out if it felt right.”

Sophomore Iman Khalil helping around at her job with her friend. Khalil started working at her friends family owned bar a year ago. She has been described as a great server and has really nice customer service.  I really like working there, Khalil said.  I get to work with my friend and plus, I know who the owners are and am close with them as well.

From that, Pockharel set the sike up. “I think the win was something that we really needed. We had been losing for a while,” Kerkman said. “ We had played them before and last time they beat us and we had to beat them this time.”

Freshman Tyler Ihm getting his interview taken by volunteer Holley Purcell in the library. Ihm had to get his interview taken as part of a class he was taking. Every student has to get their interview taken as part of Speech and Debate class. “ Talking about myself is probably the hardest part of the Mock Job interview,” Ihm said. “ I felt pretty good during the interview but I was a little nervous.”
