Olivia is a senior at Millard West and is beginning her second year on the CATalyst paper. She enjoys writing stories for the paper and is passionate about being able to represent the school. Outside of Journalism, Olivia is a member of Student Council, Spanish Honors Society and Senior Class Board.

Several Student Council members are relaxing after spending six hours decorating for last year’s Homecoming. The dance was medieval themed. “I absolutely loved setting up the big wall in the commons,” Hanash said. “Doing that each year made me feel like I was putting our work on display for the whole school, and this year that feeling got taken away from me.”

Heffner measures out the shelves for one of the seven newspaper stands. The process was challenging, yet rewarding in several ways. “My favorite part was getting to work with my friends and fellow Scouts on a project that would benefit the school,” Heffner said. “Being in charge of a group of young Scouts on a 110 hour project that could make or break my scouting career was very stressful, but I just had to keep moving forward and not look back.”

The new library shelves are holding some of the unpacked books available for checkout. Moving so many books proved to be physically demanding. “It took two weeks of four hour work days to complete. “It was back breaking work having to unpack that many books on our own,” Collins said. “We were sore for weeks but it was well worth it.”

“I’m still trying to adjust to the guitar,” Edwards said. “It was hard at first because piano came naturally to me, but guitar in a sense just hit me right in the face.”
