Millard West runners compete to win at the annual Metro Tournament that was held at Bryan High School. Millard West placing second at Metros gives the coaches and athletes an idea of what they need to work on for Districts.
“Our coaches are helping us prepare for Districts, both mentally and physically,” junior Presly Bengtson said. “We are working harder in practices and now that Metros are over, we are able to work on what we need to in order to do well at Districts.

Throughout his offseason Skoumal has been able to continue working on his skills and getting closer to his goals. During the winter months, Skoumal will try to perfect his hitting technique at indoor golf facilities. “Blake has been All In this past offseason,” Little said. “Over the summer he played in competitive events and made time to consistently practice. Over the winter months, when progress for most is stopped, Blake was hitting balls indoors to keep up with skills that he didn’t want to lose. Blakes personal commitment to getting better over the offseason is starting to pay dividends this season.”

Third Grade teacher, Gina Hill, teaches her students the reason behind the #BeKind campaign while they work on different projects. Her class, along with two other third grade classes finished writing letters to all the high school students in the 32 & Above Club. “I would love to recruit more people to do this in the future,” Hill said. “I didn’t realize the undertaking of it because I didn’t know how many high school students were in the 32 & Above Club. It would be great to start getting more people involved. The more the merrier.”
