Miguel Paredes Reyes, MWHS Wildcat News co-Editor-in-Chief, co-Striv Executive Producer

Miguel is a senior and in his third year of Advanced Journalism. He is on the varsity swim team, and also does club swimming in the off-season. Originally born in Caracas, Venezuela, he is fluent in both English and Spanish. When he’s not working as a server at Hy-Vee he is either watching sports, swimming, or hanging out with friends. He is hoping to continue journalism all throughout high school and hopefully in college and have a career in it.

Dr. Jim Sutfin visits with students at Reader Elementary. Sutfin has worked in Millard Public Schools for 27 years and plans to retire at the end of this school year. “I came here the first year Millard West opened and I loved it,” Sutfin said. “In every stage of my career there was always someone motivating me to take it a step further. I am so grateful for my time here in Millard and I will never forget it.”

"After one of our best pregames we had during the season we knew we were going to have a good game," sophomore Addie Klahn said. In the meet she dove a 478.10 and dominated the competition, beating out the second place diver by almost 60 points. “It was sort of overwhelming but really good at the same time,” Woodward said. “It was just a really emotional time and I felt all my hard work pay off. It’s something I’ll never forget,”

Junior Bella Bacon committed to the University of Iowa on September 1. On the season she has a .490 batting average, five runs and two grand slams. “Overall on the season I’ve been playing pretty well,” Bacon said. “I’m a very hard worker and a competitor at heart, so you’ll find me constantly putting in my best effort and looking on ways to improve.”
