Senior Camile O’Neill sits in her honors pre-calculus class, where due to her visual impairment she uses eSight glasses that help her to see the board, teacher and her notes. O’Neil uses tech in all of her classes that help her in a variety of ways. “With my eSight glasses, I am able to take pictures of the board so I can study them later,” O’Neil said. “My laptop helps me get my work completed in an efficient way. Most of my teachers send me digital copies of all of my assignments, so they are all accessible to me.”

This is one of the academies Millard Public schools offer. Students will be learning in similar ways that high schoolers in the education academy are, but will be apprehending different content. “Its exciting to meet people from other schools who have the same passions as me,” Education academy student Hope Belcastro said. “I like that the teachers push you to do your best and challenge you constantly throughout the year.”

According to an analysis by the New York Times, CNN’s privacy policy has a Lexile score of over 1600, meaning that it would be a difficult read even for those in professional fields like law and medicine. Hulu, Airbnb, Zoom and Disney have similarly difficult policies with Lexile scores of over 1500.
