The Wildcats took home first place in this event with a time of 49.16 seconds. “Honestly winning metros was such a ‘team’ moment,” Millard said. “We all contributed so much and every point mattered. It was so cool and unbelievable being able to share that victory with my whole team.”

There was fierce competition in this event and it took a lot of preparation. “I put in countless hours over the winter training for track, and during the spring, Ive been training even harder,” Marshall said. “Having goals and benchmarks set for each week leading up to this meet allowed me to place as well as I did.”

Millard West runners compete to win at the annual Metro Tournament that was held at Bryan High School. Millard West placing second at Metros gives the coaches and athletes an idea of what they need to work on for Districts. 
“Our coaches are helping us prepare for Districts, both mentally and physically,” junior Presly Bengtson said. “We are working harder in practices and now that Metros are over, we are able to work on what we need to in order to do well at Districts.
