Throughout the game the Wildcats tried to keep a positive mind. Although they were down, many players tried to build up their teammates and create opportunities. “I was keeping them positive and tried to get the scoring going early for us,” junior Peyton Moore said. “We needed to work on how we were defending some of their good players.”

Junior Elizabeth Hoffman looks to find her open teammate. She helped the Wildcats capture their second straight win by notching eight points, four assists, and three rebounds. The Wildcats will look to continue their strong run tonight against Millard North. “We just need to continue to improve both our defense and offense,” Hoffman said. “Weve been doing a good job of knowing who we need to focus on defensively on other teams, and we also need to continue to figure out what kinds of offense will work against other teams defenses.”

Junior Alanna Bankston scores a kill to add to the Wildcats lead. Bankston scored seven kills on the night to add to her season total of 202 kills. “Our motivation going into the game was we wanted to get it over in three,” Bankston said. “We haven’t swept many teams lately, we wanted to control the game from the start. That’s what really kept us in the game and made sure we played our best game.”

As the Wildcats prepare for their tough close to the regular season there are many things they can work on. The team needs to learn from their mistakes in the seventh innings of this game and use them to improve. “We need to pitch well and play good defense,” Frey said. “Not give up free bases and make them earn their runs.  We need to produce runs when we have runners in scoring position.”
