Starting Thursday, March 19, the Millard West Theatre department presents “Radium Girls,” their spring production, in the auditorium. General admission tickets can be purchased here for the 7 p.m. shows on Thursday or Friday, as well as the 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, March 21.
The play follows Grace Fryer, played by Anna Walker, as she navigates the hardships of working in a watch factory in the early 1900s. The audience gets a first-hand look at Fryer’s fight for justice against the company accused of poisoning its workers.
The play, inspired by a true story, is directed by Brooke Phillips and features a range of talent, including both experienced and inexperienced actors and crew members.
“It’s a really interesting story that has a lot of complex elements,” Libby Boring, stage manager, said. “There’s a little bit of humor. There are some sad parts and some triumphs. Overall, I think [the audience] will resonate with this story.”
Walker, along with Matthew Swanson, Maddox Larison and Cooper Upton round out the cast of this three-day production.
With numerous rehearsal hours put in over the last several weeks, cast and crew members are eager to share the play with the public.
“It’s super fun. I’ve had an absolute blast,” cast member Alayna Schramm said. “I think it is a great first show.”

Adult tickets start at $12, and student tickets are $7. For more information, call (402) 715-6000 or contact director Brooke Phillips at [email protected].
