COVID-19 has affected our nation in a very impactful way as we are in quarantine until April 30th, leaving people unable to work and provide for their families. The big problem for some families is they now don’t have enough money to feed their children or themselves. Millard Public Schools has decided to try to help out these people in their time of need by handing out free breakfast and lunch.

The district believes that this is a great way to give back to those who are struggling during this time as it ensures that no one in the area should go hungry. Many schools in the area have become spots where you can pick up the meals. This is what the district can do during this confusing time, as many people are very stressed out about how they are going to bring in their income and how they are going to make it through all of this. Providing meals helps people worry less about where they are going to get their next meal and allows these people to feel comfort knowing that they have food to eat.

The biggest joy out of all of this is seeing the joy and gratitude on the faces of not only the parents, but the children as well. It makes everything worthwhile seeing the children smile makes for a very fulfilling experience for the ones that volunteer their time. The volunteers are making the biggest difference in the community right now as they are spending their time helping the less fortunate or people that are unable to provide a meal for their family. As a community, we are all going through the same struggles not only in our own area, but all over the country and even the world. We as people needed to find a way to come together and lend a helping hand to the people that are struggling the most due to being in quarantine and not being able to work or just being laid off entirely.

COVID-19 has destroyed many people’s ability to provide meals for their families. Millard Public Schools has come up with a great plan to ensure that the community has a way to get meals for them and their families.
