Kayla posts often on her TikTok for her large following so she can both maintain and grow her following. After she went viral a few times, her following has skyrocketed and her followers love watching videos of her and her boyfriend. “Some of my videos got tons of views,” Kayla said. “So then I just kept making more and then my account kept growing. I feel that I influence others based off of a healthy relationship that others can look up to.”

The tag "weight loss journey" on TikTok has almost 3 billion views. The "weight loss" tag has over 13 billion views, and "what I eat in a day" has 4 billion views. Some tags, such as "pro-anorexia," which promotes eating disorders, have been blocked on the app.
