On Sunday Nov 6, I made my way to a newly built breakfast spot called Sunnyside, it is located in Elkhorn on North 204th St. I heard some pleasant things from some of my friends  about the new breakfast spot, so I thought I would give it a try.

When I first saw the building I was very impressed at how nicely renovated it was. The next thing that caught my eye from the outside of the restaurant was the nice big logo, it was a big egg with a smiley face on it. I thought it was quite unique, and a very cathay logo. Right when you walk in the store the menu is right in front of you, the menu is colorful, and quite large for just a breakfast spot. Sunnyside gave me really at-home vibes. There were a lot of breakfast slogans painted on the walls, the chairs were a light pink color, and the big egg logo was painted on the wall. There were not that many seats there, especially when it started to get busy people had to leave to take it to-go so that’s a downside for people that looked to go sit-down and eat. Luckily we got a spot in a comfy, and spacious booth that had plenty of room. The atmosphere at Sunnyside was 4.7/5, everything was amazing except for the lack of seating.

Now onto the next thing that I will be reviewing, is the customer service. When we walked in he greeted us, and he was very patient with us as we were deciding what we wanted to get to eat. When we were ordering he was very flexible with our complicated orders, and made sure he got our order right. When we were seated the manager came over to talk to us, and welcomed us because it was our first time. When they brought out our food they made sure they warned us that the plates were hot, so that was very helpful of him. When we were done eating we were about to take our trash but he told us to leave it, and they would take it. When we were leaving the man at the counter saw my little sisters, and let them pick out some candy. Overall the service at Sunnyside was outstanding, and I give it a 5/5.

The next thing that I will be rating Sunnyside on is their cleanliness. The cleanliness of a restaurant is what makes it or breaks it in the food industry. If customers walk in and see a dirty store they will not want to eat there. But thankfully Sunnyside was a very clean place. You could tell that the floors were recently swept, and mopped because there was nothing on the floors, which was just amazing. All of the tables were being wiped off before we came in, even before they took us to our table they made sure they wiped it off for us again. The plates, and silverware that we got were clean, and no food marks on them at all. The cleanliness was once again a 5/5 it couldn’t have got any better than what it was.

With all of the prices going up for everything, I will be talking about the pricing for Sunnyside. The menu was relatively inexpensive with everything being $12.75 or under. I got a quesadilla for $8.75, I felt like the pricing for it was right because of how big it was. The next thing that I got was a hash brown, and it was $2.00. I felt like that was overpriced because it was super small. Then my mom, and my sisters each got pancakes, and bacon. The pancakes were $2.75 for each of them, and then the bacon was $4.25 for 3 slices. Overall I felt like Sunnyside was fair for pricing, some things were priced right, and some things were priced a little inaccurate. I will be giving them a 3/5 for the pricing of their food.

Lastly, the most important thing about a breakfast restaurant, the food. The first thing that I got was the Sunnyside quesadilla. It came with bacon, egg, chipotle queso, cheese, tomato, pickled red onion, and a flour tortilla. The quesadilla was out of this world, it was massive and packed with all of the delicious toppings. It was the best quesadilla I have ever had in my life and I will give it a 5/5. The next thing that I tried on their menu was the buttermilk pancakes. They were just your normal generic pancakes. They were nothing special, but they weren’t bad. I will give the pancakes a 2.8/5. The next thing that I tried was the hash brown, it was just a normal hash brown but it was really good, and hit the spot. I’ll give the hash brown a 4/5. The last thing that I tried on the Sunnyside menu was the bacon. It was amazing. The beacon was very crispy, and mouth watering. I really enjoyed the bacon to go along with the quesadilla. I’ll give the bacon a 4.5/5.

Overall I really enjoyed Sunnyside for their food, customer service, pricing, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness. I am definitely going to be back at Sunnyside soon, and I really recommend you go try it when you are in the mood for some good breakfast food. For Sunnyside as a whole I will give them a 4.7/5.
