Although it doesn’t look like much, the Pumpkin Spice limited edition blizzard from Dairy Queen exceeded my expectations.

With the fall season right around the corner, Dairy Queen has added their yearly fall blizzards. Dairy Queen is known for their annual fall treats. They added the Pumpkin Spice Blizzard and the Reese’s Cookie Dough Blizzard. I was eager to go try a couple of them and give them a review.

As I came through the drive through, there were a couple cars in line and it moved by pretty quick. The service was pretty decent; they didn’t ask how my day was or anything extra like that. I ordered two mini blizzards which is six ounces of ice cream, and it took a couple minutes to get them out despite me just getting mini Blizzards. They also didn’t give me napkins or lids on the ice cream for a to-go order.

I ordered a mini Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and a mini Reese’s Pieces Cookie Dough Blizzard. The price for each one of them after tax was $3.82, the total price was $7.64. For two mini blizzards, I think that is kind of pricey for one or two scoops of ice cream with mix-ins. In comparison, I could go to McDonalds and get a medium McFlurry for $2.30, and I think that it would be just as good.

The first one I tried was the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. The worker said that this was the most popular and the best among the fall blizzards. It had really good consistency and wasn’t all melted or runny..  The pumpkin flavor was present and you could taste it throughout the whole Blizzard; it was very good. There were hardly any pumpkin pie pieces throughout the Blizzard so I think that they could have added more. My overall rating for the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is an 8/10.

The next Blizzard that I ordered was the Reese’s Pieces Cookie Dough Blizzard. The Blizzard had a ton of cookie dough and Reese’s Pieces at the top, but as I got to the middle and bottom of the blizzard there were hardly any, so I don’t think they mixed it well. The ice cream was very runny and it kind of melted right when I got it. The reason why I was disappointed is because normally the Blizzards are super thick but today they were very runny. I didn’t enjoy this blizzard that much so I will rate it a 4/10.

Overall, I had a good experience at Dairy Queen. The service was average and the line moved fairly fast. The price was a little expensive for two mini blizzards, but for some of the fall items it is worth it. The Pumpkin Pie blizzard was amazing, and I would definitely recommend for you to go try it sometime. On the other hand, the Reese’s Pieces Cookie Dough Blizzard was alright with just a couple changes, like mixing the toppings through the whole blizzard and making sure it’s not melted. But other than that it wasn’t horrible; Iwould rate the overall experience a 7/10.
