Chloe Tings “exposed”

The truth is, everyone has abs, but some people have more visible abs than others, depending on their body fat percentage and abdominal musculature, so while abdominal exercises build muscle, they don't burn belly fat to reveal abs.

During quarantine, people around the world seek new activities to keep themselves busy during their time at home. Chole Tings, a workout influencer, has become one of the trendiest workout gurus among social media, but the question arises, do her workouts actually work as they are advertised? While many teenagers believed so, many trainers and dietitians confronted the workouts by stating that they are completely false.

Tings claims her videos give abs in two weeks, while professionals give out true information. No matter how many ab workouts you do, they are all a scam, the only way to obtain abs is weight loss. According to Healthline, “Exercising your abdominal muscles will strengthen them. However, twisting, crunching and side bending will not make your abdominal muscles visible if they are covered by a thick layer of fat.”

On Tik Tok, videos are being made “exposing” the Chloe Tings workout program and the false advertising towards teenagers. Influencers argue that Tings should change the name of her programs instead of giving false hope to her audience. However, others argue that at least teenagers are being active and working out, even though it is false advertising.

The truth is, everyone has abs, but some people have more visible abs than others, depending on their body fat percentage and abdominal musculature, so while abdominal exercises build muscle, they don’t burn belly fat to reveal abs. The truth to getting the abs is being brought to light by experts who give simple tips about how to uncover your abs. Losing weight, eating well and increasing your body muscle percentage are three common ways to reveal your abs.

After her workouts were being debunked, other influencers like Madfit and Pamela Reif have released workout videos with more accurate advertising in hopes of gaining a larger audience and holding a true promise. Other influencers explain that spot reduction or training is impossible, you can not choose to build muscle or lose weight in one area because your body only feels the calories being burned. According to Healthline, the key to getting those abs at a fast pace is by eating the right nutritious food in a calorie deficit and cutting out processed foods and refined sugars.

However, don’t stop doing abdominal workouts, though they don’t “reveal” your abs they strengthen your body and core which can make your abs look more muscular and slim down your waistline. Aswell as burning those extra calories can aid in weight loss. According to HuffPost, weight loss is 75% diet and 25% exercise. Eating right and getting a recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day can get you sustainable abs in a manageable time period.
