Stepping down the lane, junior Jayci Reimers zones in and prepares to release the ball towards the pins. Reimers had bowled a 119 in the first round of the dual against Bellevue West. “Starting the game was rough for me but my teammates picked me up as I kept going,” Reimers said. “Going frame after frame, they always had my back and in the end I did better and started to bowl like myself.”

Junior Jillian Weland follows through after releasing the ball during the duel vs. Papillon-La Vista South. The varsity girls competed hard against a strong Titan team, falling 13-8. “I struggled with the oil on the lanes,” Weland said. “I think it could help our team by practicing on different styles of lanes so we would be exposed to different oil patterns.”

Both Varsity bowling teams had a tough fought day at Western Bowl. They both went home 1-1, and are ready to pick back up next week. “For our first duel we did really well, considering we bowled a couple tough teams,” coach Megan Smith said. “Through this, we were able to keep our spirits up, and I’m looking forward to a great season.”
