Disney day brings multiple surprises
Multiple new releases on popular streaming service
November 17, 2021
One of the biggest entertainment companies is celebrating two years on its newest platform. Disney+ came out on Nov. 12, 2019, and has racked in over $4.3 billion and over 110 million subscribers, according to New York Times.
Disney announced multiple new trailers and released an amazing deal to new subscribers with their second anniversary. In a regular month, Disney+ costs $8 per month, but it will cost just $2 for the first month for their anniversary, so you would be missing out if you didn’t look into this deal.
Along with this spectacular deal, a ton of new titles will be released all day. Before the twelfth, Disney announced that the recently released “Jungle Cruise” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” will be available on Disney+. This is surprising because “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” just left the box office.
Beginning at 9 a.m, Disney+ social media accounts started to release teasers and trailers for their upcoming shows and movies. One caught my childhood-heart’s attention: A new show starring Baymax from “Big Hero 6” is going to be released in the summer of 2022. “Big Hero 6” was my favorite movie when I was younger so I am looking forward to “Baymax.” Just from the trailer, I can already see how funny it is going to be, especially for a teenager. Along with “Baymax,” another popular movie will be coming out. A new “Ice Age,” called “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild,” will be coming out at the end of January. I am not a huge fan of any of the “Ice Age” movies but this movie focuses on a side character, Buck. Disney really does bring out the child in everyone, which is why I am excited for these animated films.
As the day went on they released multiple trailers for other movies and documentaries, and right when I thought the good teasers were posted, multiple Marvel titles were released. I am a huge Marvel fan, so these titles had me on the edge of my seat. It wasn’t just a couple of releases; it was 11 titles, which is a huge showing. Since they just released the name of the movies or shows, I am not sure what to expect. Some of the few that I am really excited about are “I Am Groot,” “She-Hulk,” “Ironheart” and “Agatha: House of Harkness.”
After those titles were released, that was the end of Disney Day, and it made me feel magical. Honestly, Disney is making me want to feel like a kid again, and I can’t wait.
