Millard West math teacher Brooke Hartnett reviews with her students on Zoom before their quiz. She has explored many new digital tools, like a program called Formative, during her time teaching online. Although she acknowledges that it’s great to bring back new things to the classroom, she misses her students. “I miss interacting with my colleagues and students,” Hartnett said. “I really miss the feedback I can get from the facial expressions and body language of my students when Im teaching. It is very difficult to gauge their level of understanding without that.”

The pit feeling of dread and pensiveness crosses every about-to-be college student’s mind. Deciding whether or not higher education is their true calling is no easy task, and the bill only makes it harder. The ongoing financial struggle-- that tends to take up a decent portion of one’s life-- is hair-ripping and stressful as is. Tuition for numerous out-of-state public universities is far too high for non-residents and should be reconsidered for a lower price similar to that of a state resident.
