Freshman Norah Gessert shoots a free throw late in the third quarter. Gessert totaled 10 points as well as a rebound and assist. The big win gives them confidence as they get ready for a big rivalry game against Millard South. “The girls know we can compete with anyone in the state,” head coach Marc Kruger said. “We just havent been able to break through and finish off a really good opponent. Hopefully this game can serve as a lesson that we cant take possessions off and need to be ready to play our brand of basketball for all four quarters.”

Although Millard West lost, they still have been putting in work for tonights game. They have watched film and corrected some errors from last week in preparation for today. “This is the final game of the season, and I know the players want to send the seniors out on a win,” coach Seth White said. “They will need to match their execution with the great effort they will bring to the game this week.”

Wildcats lose a close game

Senior Hunter Sallis puts on the Gonzaga gear for the announcement of his commitment. Sallis averaged 22.2 points per game and won the state championship in his senior year. “I was very glad to hear Hunter is going to Gonzaga because of the high success of their program and also because of getting to know their coaches well,” Millard North head coach Tim Cannon said. “Hunter has meant a lot to me because he is a very good person besides a great player and he has meant a lot to her program as he has helped raise the level of where we are.”
