This is Logan’s senior year and 4th year on staff. Last year he was the MWHS Wildcat News Broadcast Editor In Chief, Striv Executive Producer and one of the piloting students of the “High School Radio Project.” Moseley won 1st place in the NSAA Class A News Broadcast category, and placed in the Broadcast Feature category as well. Moseley worked with the President of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association, Jim Timm, on the HSRP, worked for the Corn Belt baseball summer league live streaming service, and was a PA for Millard North Legion Baseball. Moseley is a fan of the Los Angeles Rams and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

During Millard West’s 74-66 loss to Elkhorn South, the Wildcats found themselves in a position to pull ahead, but were unable to do so. Junior Jordan Gassen (5), senior Zac Grandgenett (22), junior Cooper Fortune (23), senior Peyton Moore (12) and senior Jaden Giaus (14) all were crucial in the teams upset-watch game against the Storm. “We had so many close games throughout the season, each loss was a tough one every single time,” Gassen said. “I was happy we were able to finally get that win against Omaha Central. All of our seniors this year have been great teammates, and it was a pleasure playing with them, and I will miss you next year”. Though the team went 8-15, there is still a lot of promise going into next year.

Matt Rhule, the newly hired head coach for Nebraska Football, was the first of many in this years head coaching cycle. Other coaches that were hired, and potentially in the eyes of athletic director Trev Alberts include Deion Sanders (Colorado), Hugh Freeze (Auburn) and Luke Fickell (Wisconsin) to name a few. However, Rhule brings the highest floor compared to those coaches, as he has built programs from the ground up, and leaving it in good hands if, or when, he leaves. Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder (left) and Phoenix Suns owner Rovert Sarver (right) have been in the news for all of the wrong reasons. The environment they have created for their team has negatively impacted their respective leagues. The worst part is these are just two more recent examples. Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was accused of similar actions between both Snyder and Sarver. Both LA football team owners Dean Spanos and Stan Kronke have made controversial decisions, with the Rams being sued by the city of STL. Louis and being forced to pay for their move to the city of angels. All of these owners and more have shown that the owners of some of the most profitable entities in the world, cannot control and use their power for good.

After the half, many of the younger players got more experience playing valuable snaps. “Just coaching up the younger guys and giving them pointers is big,” senior linebacker Reid Hazen said. “All you can really do (when not playing) is coach them up and try and help them out as much as you can.” Millard West will continue their five game win streak against Lincoln Southwest on Oct. 28, at Seacrest Field in Lincoln.

When Jon Willis first stepped onto campus at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, he didnt know what he was in for. Two years later, hes made improvements he wouldnt have anywhere else. “My boss at KRVN Jayson Jorgenson has impacted me the most,” Willis said. “If you listen to how I sound and broadcast a game before I started working there and after, it has completely changed. A career winning percentage of .340 is never good, but when you take a previously winless team such as the University of Central Florida Knights, and even as far as claiming the National Championship in 2017, you would expect nothing but the best for the new program that he would be running. What followed suit was five straight losing seasons, and a man 15 million dollars richer. Urban Meyer (bottom left), Thomas Brown (top left) and Matt Campbell (top right) all could bring the program back to relevance, something the Nebraska native couldn’t do.

The downhills are some of the more technical parts of mountain biking, and one of his strong suits. “The main difference from the slow race to the actual race is the pedaling, you actually pedal more,” Langer said. “The downhills in the main race is where I excelled, which really shows the technical skills aspect of cycling, and mountain biking specifically.”

On Feb 13, two of the National Football League’s best battled for a chance of a lifetime, a chance to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Los Angeles Rams of the National Football Conference and the Cincinnati Bengals of the American Football Conference, both the four seed in the playoffs, had unlikely paths to Sofi Stadium. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp (10) and defensive back Eli Apple (20) constantly saw themselves in this game, and Kupp’s score in the final two minutes against Apple sealed Cincinnatis fate.
