Senior Wyatt Goodlett, #60, runs back to his teammates to celebrate the win they secured against the Omaha North Vikings. With 7 seconds left in the fourth quarter, there was a field goal to be kicked, which occurred successfully, making the score 19-16. “I was super happy after our win against Omaha North,” Wyatt Goodlett said. “I worked really hard that game and felt proud of myself, especially since I played with a hurt shoulder.”

Seniors Bobby Joseph and Jackson Williams jump for joy as Williams crosses the goal line. This touchdown by Williams contributed to the monster win over Burke , with a final score of 48-7. I knew I was due for a punt or kick return, I just didnt know when it was gonna come. Williams said. I also should be thanking the boys up front for great blocking, and putting their bodies on the line.

Wildcats pounce on the Bulldogs for second straight year

Senior defensive end Trey Mittelstedt (58) celebrates after a clutch sack on Omaha North junior quarterback Sebastion Circo. Mettelstedt, and the entire Wildcat defense held Circo to just 135 passing yards, and the rest of the Viking offense to 97 rushing yards. “I knew the pressure would eventually get there,” Mettelstedt said. “We are very talented up front, so as long as we followed through, we would hit home and make those plays.”

The boys were both invited to play for Area Codes in California. Its an invite only event, Lewis said. The games are played between some of the best high school players in the country in front of professional scouts.

Senior Bobby Joseph working on skills and speed in team drills. Joseph is the starting running back/ wide receiver for the Wildcats. I want to step up and lead this team to the playoffs and hopefully win the championship, Joseph said. Joseph and the wildcats were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round last season, and look to bounce back this year and make it to the championship.

Blair had won the A182 State Championship the year before and was getting ready to do the same again. “I prepare for State the same way I do any other tournament,” Blair said. “Its more than just what you do on the mat, its eating habits, sleep schedule, recovery, et cetera.”

During Millard West’s 74-66 loss to Elkhorn South, the Wildcats found themselves in a position to pull ahead, but were unable to do so. Junior Jordan Gassen (5), senior Zac Grandgenett (22), junior Cooper Fortune (23), senior Peyton Moore (12) and senior Jaden Giaus (14) all were crucial in the teams upset-watch game against the Storm. “We had so many close games throughout the season, each loss was a tough one every single time,” Gassen said. “I was happy we were able to finally get that win against Omaha Central. All of our seniors this year have been great teammates, and it was a pleasure playing with them, and I will miss you next year”. Though the team went 8-15, there is still a lot of promise going into next year.

Junior Taylor Hansen scores a layup to help Millard West pull away for Omaha Westside. Hansen was able to consistently find ways to beat Westside from every part of the court. She ended up finishing the game with 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. “Throughout the game, I tried to stay really confident,” Hansen said. “I think our team needed confidence in this game because we all knew that the stakes were high. I knew that we needed to play our best game so that we could continue our season. I also knew that it was important to win so that our Seniors could experience a win for their last home game ever.”
