Juniors Natalie Kersten and Brykin Jones perform “Love is an Open Door.” Both Kersten and Jones performed various songs and dances together throughout the two-and-a-half-hour production. “Both Jones and I had some of the biggest parts of the musical,” Kersten said. “Getting to perform throughout the whole play was very exciting for us.”

Students in STEM academy, seniors Luke Lombardo, Landon Chessareck, Nathan Durand and Andrew Johnson, work on an adaptive swing while visiting J.P. Lord. When building, they are taking into account that this swing will be made for sensory purposes. “We have been working on this swing all year,” Johnson said. “It’s the biggest project we have and will be the most impactful for J.P. Lord students.”

This was a special moment for the group as they’ve waited four years to get that front row spot. “It was such a fulfilling moment, Smidlien said. “Getting to cheer for our football team, year after year, has been so much fun, and I can’t wait to do it for the rest of the season.”

In Home Maintenance, STS teacher Anothony Anderson teaches senior Bobby Joseph how to hook up the wires for an outlet. Anderson had a great experience taking shop class in high school, such a great experience he decided he wanted to do it as a career. “My high school shop teacher was really influential,” Anderson said. “I had a really good connection with him starting my freshman year. I had such a great experience with him, the more I thought about things in high school I was really good at working with my hands and helping other students in class.”

After senior Jackson Williams pitched, senior Tyson Lewis runs off the field and holds up a signal to show Williams struck an opposing player out. The boys were both invited to play for Area Codes in California. Its an invite only event, Lewis said. The games are played between some of the best high school players in the country in front of professional scouts.
