The cast of the fall play, Southern Hospitality, meets with an accent coach over Zoom to perfect their southern accents for the show and create cohesiveness between one another. Each actor was able to test out ways to manipulate their voice and practiced a variety of different sounds. “We learned how we can change our voices by something as simple as the move of a tongue,” junior Kaden Frazier said. “Having everyone talk with the same accent really made the show pop out and made the town of Fayro feel like a real community.”

The Bishop Sycamore team had a lot of effort put into it to fool both the players of their team and themselves. If the font wasn’t a minor red flag, this was taken from their HUDL page, and while the newest highlight is from 2019, it is safe to assume that this was an elaborate scheme, Ill be very creative.

A member of Justice and Diversity League hangs a banner of flags in front of the library. The flags are part of a large display that is meant to increase inclusion and awareness of the LGBTQ+ community in the school. “We chose this because the flag is of course a big part of the symbol of the LGBTQ+ community, so it needs to be included,” sophomore Maggie Scott said. “If people see all the pride flags hanging then maybe they will come and read about our display. By making all the other smaller flags for gender identity and sexualities, we hope that everyone that is a part of the community will feel included and welcome.”

Many student’s enjoy going out to eat for lunch. Senior Dillon Von Freiberg enjoys his time off at Taco Bell. “When in doubt I always go to Taco Bell,” Von Freiberg said. “You can really never go wrong with anything, but I personally get the steak quesadilla.”

Sophomore Logan Mosley Puts away his phone before class starts so he isnt distracted during class “I don’t really think that the cell phone policy really does anything or helps anything. Students still have items like apple watches that they can use. ,” sophomore Logan Mosley said, Some students could just keep their phones with them and the teachers wouldnt know because they could use an excuse like they are grounded or they dont have one.

As STEM Academy students start off the year junior Grace Tsogbevi works to learn the basics of design. The academy utilizes many different software programs to give students a hands-on experience. “We have been working with the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to start to learn the basics of design,” Tsogbevi said. “I am most excited to learn more about the program and be able to shape things and work off the program a little bit.”

Many Wildcats dressed up in neon yellows, oranges, and pinks for the Back to School dance. Students like sophmore Avery Looney saw this as chance to get creative with their outfits. My favorite part of the dance was the neon theme, Looney said. I got to dress up with my friends, paint my face, and wear body glitter.

AP Capstone is a two-year program that consists of AP Seminar and AP Research. The classes focus on researching current issues and providing a logical solution which students present through a written report and oral defense. “When it comes to applying for colleges, AP Capstone students will signify their participation in the program by clicking a box on their Common App,” AP Capstone coordinator and AP Research teacher Kara Radtke said. “For comparison purposes, it is the same box students in the IB program get to click on their applications.”
