This tiered cake is bursting with flavor and pizzaz from it’s lovely vanilla cake to its cream cheese frosting and gold-dusted berries. Friend and customer Valerie Pioppi is proud of Olivia and her baking business. “I show all my friends her cakes, and I think it really displays her work ethic,” Pioppi said. “I would definitely get a cake from her because the way she decorates them is so pretty.”

He taught himself to play by ear and also sings along with it. “Several months ago, I decided I wanted to pursue music even further by writing, producing, and uploading my own music for everyone to enjoy,” Zohlen said. “I use a Digital Audio Workstation called Reaper to record and produce my music.”

Cutler works as seasonal help at the local toy company based in Elkhorn, Nebraska. “Working here feels really good,” Cutler said. “You get done and know you just helped the company to send gifts to families all over the country for their loved ones to open on Christmas.

Junior Campbell Macy stands holding a box of the donuts that she designed. On the top of the box, there is a donut with red hot frosting. “We turned the cinnamon candy into a very thick syrup and emulsified that into our standard white icing,” Bob’s Donuts chef Keri Tull said. “We already had an apple cake donut that we were selling so we used that. The toppings are a syrup that we made and crushed cinnamon candy.”

Shreeya is pictured wearing her new Indian clothes with the rangoli her mom and her made. She celebrated Diwali “festival of lights” on November 14th. “This day celebrates the return on Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and his wife Sita, an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi, to Ayodhya,” senior Shreeya Mishra said. “ After his 14 years in exile, Rama returns after defeating the evil Ravana, which is why this day celebrates good over evil. Because of their return the residents of Ayodhya had a celebration and lit clay lamps.”

On November 5, Senior Evan Meyersick signed his letter of intent, officially committing to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a walk-on to play football. Meyersick joined the football team during the end of his sophomore year and has since been putting in countless hours of work to develop his skills as a wide receiver. During his time as a member of the Wildcat football team, Meyersick has racked up a total of 13 catches, 244 yards and one touchdown.

Senior Ceibhionn Stevens sketches out the designs for her mural. “The planning process was less difficult than I imagined,” Stevens said. “I looked up art of theater through history to gather ideas and inspiration. Then I made several drafts and had a few ideas that I eventually dropped in order to make the mural open and bright and true to our theater troupe.”
