About the Writers
Trevor Lueck, co-Editor-in-Chief

Trevor is kicking off his second year in journalism, as as a junior and co-Editor-in-Chief. In his last year, he enjoyed writing columns, hard news, entertainment reviews and producing broadcasts. Trevor takes advantage of his very opinionated view on the world, and has written a few controversial stories. As co-Editor-in-Chief, he must edit all stories, organize deadlines and oversee all the writers. Outside of class Trevor is involved with Boy Scouts and does weekly volunteer work.

Kaitlyn Willard, Feature Editor

Katie is a junior and this is her second year writing for the CATalyst Newspaper and broadcasting for the MWHS Wildcat News. She enjoys writing opinion and hard news stories along with photography. Katie is involved in National Honors Society, Key Club, Cross Country, Track and obviously, Journalism.

Jaxon Parker, Staff Writer

Jaxon Parker is a Senior from Millard West. His interests include camping, hiking, as well as a passion for music including hip-hop and indie. He also enjoys film and literature whenever he has time. Jaxon will be attending the University of Colorado Boulder in the fall majoring in English.

Gabe Paredes, Entertainment Editor

A Venezuela native, Gabe is fluent in both English and Spanish. Gabe’s entrance into the Journalism scene was rare and sudden, but he has enjoyed every second of it. He enjoys broadcasting but is willing to write a couple stories every once in a while. In his free time, Gabe enjoys hanging out with his friends, swim and watching soccer.

Makenna Cole, Staff Writer

Makenna Cole in new student to the journalism class. She enjoys writing about different things, and taking on new challenges when it comes to writing. In her free time Makenna likes to write stories, and hang out with friends. Makenna doesn’t do anything in the school, but outside of school she loves to play softball. She is excited to write different types of stories in for journalism

Kaitlin Kocis, Staff Writer

Kaitlin is beginning her first year as a staff writer. She is interested in writing hard news, feature stories and opinion stories. She is involved in HOSA. Kaitlin also enjoys photography. She is excited to join the journalism team.

Jaden Cover, Sports Editor

Jaden is in his 3rd year on the staff here, the longest of anyone in the class. He’s always found interest in sports writing and sports broadcasting, so his hope is to pursue a career in one of those fields.  He’s been to state twice for sports feature writing and once for sports news writing. Outside of journalism, Jaden stays busy playing football for Millard West in the fall as well as hockey in the spring.

I’m a Kind gentleman with a funny personality who likes sports, movies, and chilly fall evenings. I enjoy making weekly football score predictions, writing, broadcasting, commentating, and everything sports. I am an open minded leader who builds off of other peoples ideas, but can also work productively on my own.
